The blog
Why I started this blog?
I have two reasons that made me start this blog:
Share my ideas
I see this blog as an opportunity to share my progress and what I have made within these years, what went wrong, what ideas came through, future projects, etc…
Wikipedia for myself
Another reason is to document all my knowledge in a place where I can search for what I’ve made and how I made it, helping me to remember and reuse insightful ideas that I already had.

My homelab
How it Started?
So, in 2018, I had an idea to host a Minecraft server on a Linux machine to play with a couple of friends on the same LAN. To do this, I installed Ubuntu Server on an Atom D2500 CCE Win laptop that was too outdated for personal use; it had a 1-core / 2-thread CPU and 2GiB of RAM.

It was surprisingly good considering my expectations. I was able to handle 3 players (myself included) at the same time with almost no lag (since we stayed near each other). Playing on a Minecraft server running on Windows with the same hardware would be nearly impossible. This showed me a new world of possibilities. I spent most of my time just looking for the best and most efficient way to run services on this “server,” and after that, I just went deeper and deeper into the homelab world.
Where is it now?
Nowadays, I maintain a hybrid (cloud/on-premises) cluster, with Proxmox VE nodes, bare-metal Linux nodes, cloud instances, a storage server with TrueNAS, backup schedulers, monitoring metrics and logs, high-availability VMs, and services like Gitea, AdGuard, Jellyfin, n8n, etc.
